Sounds of the Night

We’ve been blessed to have been experiencing warmer temps of late. Spring has finally sprung. It’s warm enough to crack the windows at night and allow the sounds of the night lull one to sleep and then to wake up to a gentle chill and stillness of the morning.

A soft breeze comes and goes, carrying with it all the lovely neighborhood sounds we’ve missed since November … a dog barking, children singing, the crickets chirping … A sliver of a crescent moon hangs low in the sky.

We realize how long this winter has been ~ how insulating against all sounds of life it has been ~ when the windows can be opened again.
