The days have become increasingly shorter. So much so, that I long for the dog-gone days of summer. I wait in anticipation for the new season to come around once more – to allow me more “day” time. The weather has been hot, cold, rainy, and foggy. Today, it is muggy. The temperature lingers around 71 degrees farenheit. At times, I find myself wanting to move back home where one can experience all the seasons in all their glory. But alas, I remain steadfast.

I spotted a tiny yellow butterfly yesterday. Yes, spring has finally sprung!

19 degrees! Holy enchilada! Panama City Beach has broken a record as today’s date being the coldest in history. I think I’ll just stay inside and think tropical thoughts. :)

The day began as a warm but slightly muggy morning. The sun was brilliant and I could have sworn today was a day only found in the spring. However, as the hours passed by, the clouds cast their doubtful outlooks on the rest of the afternoon. Sun gave way to fog and the breeze had a tinge of nippiness.

Beautiful day today. Air is crisp and clean. If it wasn’t winter, I’d swear it was autumn.

It’s been a while, I know! Tsk, tsk …
Today began as a muggy and hot day. I think it was above 80 degrees at 6am. I stepped outside and into my virtual sauna. We went to the beach this afternoon, and it was a double red flag, so no swimming. The boys enjoyed playing in the overflow area.

I am on call this week for nesting turtles. I don’t expect any calls this week because it is early in the season.

Finally, we put out our hummingbird feeders and changed the wild bird seed (because it only attracted Mourning Doves) to Cardinal seed. The finch socks went up as well. Hopefully, we can attract a more diverse population of birds.

On the subject of Mourning Doves, two of them were perched contentedly upon the banister. They made no effort to move when I bounded out onto the porch. I suppose they are comfortable with us human types.
