Aloha Friday #125
If you had the time, what area of your home would you re-organize?
Whoa! She was reading my mind! I’ve been on quite the mission in the past two weeks. You see … I’m a paper-pack-rat. But please don’t tell anyone. I’m sharing with you because … well … you’re YOU! And you’re special.
At any rate, I have put life on hold. ON HOLD, PEOPLE! I have been dragging around an unspecified number of boxes labeled “Misc” for years. Inside those boxes contain very important papers. These might be ticket stubs, bills, 15-cent coupons, pics of the boys when they were like 2, taken … somewhere. I dunno – these are the things that made it through two natural disasters and umpteen moves.
The contents of those boxes have been tossed, filed, or uploaded. Aside from the screaming backache, I feel accomplished! After 10 years, I can finally cross “Become more organized” off my New Year’s Resolution list! YIPPEE 4 ME!
In case anyone is wondering about the answer to this week’s question, it would be a reorganization of the head! :rotfl:
Friday Fill-Ins: Volume 1

1. A cup of tea might be nice if it were not for this damn acid indigestion as a result of a lack-of-thought Botox treatment.
2. Dirty socks and paintball guns strewn everywhere makes a place feel like home.
3. Everything has its beauty but sometimes we are unwilling to notice.
4. Don’t you love the taste of strawberries?
5. Art makes me feel nostalgic.
6. LOL I just noticed I forgot I put butter in the nuker.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to kids at home and the Winter Carnival, tomorrow my plans include re-organizing my life and Sunday, I want to go out to dinner!

Sunday Stealing: The Final Week of 2009 Meme

This week’s meme comes from Nik Durga of Spatula Forum.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
I had a hysterectomy. Vacationed in California, Maryland.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I made four resolutions and didn’t even attempt at keeping one of them! I’m sucha loser!!!
3. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
We will continue our annual tradition of a filet mignon dinner, followed by setting off fireworks on the beach, and then watching the ball drop on the boob tube.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
YES! My Blackberry Curve was caught in a torrential downpour. It had a mighty hard and fought till the very last flicker of life.
5. What countries did you visit?
I didn’t leave the country this year, although I did travel extensively up and down the east coast throughout the year.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Ironically, quality family time is what I want more of in 2010. 2009 was an emotionally charged year and ironically, even though we were together most of the time, we were not together much of the time.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 25th. Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on that day.

Having the inner strength to overcome adversity.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes, the hysterectomy — which made everything else about me outta whack!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Blackberry Curve — I don’t know how I ever survived without one!
12. Where did most of your money go?
Books, of course!
13. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Crazy– Gnarls Barkley

Laying in the grass, looking up at the sky, in wonder and amazement.

Being on the computer.

Brothers & Sisters and House.

Nope … never … not me!

Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Peeps

Hmmmm … okay, I’m stumped. NEXT!!!
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Blind Side. It was such an inspiring movie.
21. What did you do on your birthday?
Good Lord — I can’t even remember what I did yesterday, much less what I did back in April. Ummm … probably ate a generous slab or two of Carvel ice cream cake. I think I’m salivating.

The beach and sand in my shorts. A good shot of Jack did the trick at times, too.

My BFF.
